What I Learned Researching the Entire Sauna Industry
Here’s what I discovered:
The sauna industry is largely unregulated.
Brands can make big claims about “detox,” “low EMF,” and “non-toxic materials” with virtually no oversight. Some companies are excellent. Some look good online but don’t hold up in person.
I came away admiring only a couple of brands that were genuinely serious about safety, materials, and performance.
Sunstream, in particular, stood out:
They’ve been building infrared saunas since 1999, making them one of the original pioneers in the space.
Their designs use very low EMF heaters and non-toxic materials that are tested not to off-gas into your home.
The sizing, layout, and look of their saunas make sense for real homes ( especially apartments).
After my research, I flew to Canada to meet the founder in person and go through every detail: the build quality, the materials, the heat, the way these saunas feel in real use.
From there, we created a dedicated partnership for NYC and Miami so people in city apartments could have a clear, high-trust option and local support when bringing a sauna into their home.
Sunstream is still a global brand, with customers all over the world.
My role is simple: to be the local guide and owner-operator for NYC and Miami, helping you choose the right model, make sure it fits your space, and get it into your apartment smoothly.
